Why is Josephinum Connect! right for you?

The Josephinum Diaconate Institute was awarded a grant by the Lilly Endowment in 2021. This grant work aims to bridge the gap in the ongoing formation for deacons. Ongoing formation is crucial to address evolving challenges, personal growth, and to avoid burnout. It ensures vital ministers for the Church and aligns with Church directives emphasizing continual conversion and lifelong formation for deacons. 

Josephinum Connect! stems from extensive research, including surveys, focus groups, and expert collaboration, to tailor specific deacon-oriented programming. Commonly expressed concerns such as discerning between many important obligations, improving relationships, and adapting to change were identified as priority programming needs. 

The framework we created to guide our programming is tailored to different seasons in a deacon's life and ministry. This framework spans the initial years post-ordination, growth in ministry and leadership, staying vital as an experienced deacon, and preparing for and living in retirement. Each season entails the distinct needs, challenges, and opportunities of deacons, and emphasizes continuous learning, relationship-building, and resilience. 

Josephinum Connect! is a solution designed by deacons for deacons. The programming is faithful, credible, practical, and aligned with The National Directory for the Formation, Ministry, and Life of Permanent Deacons in the United States of America (Second Edition). Subscriptions are affordable and the platform is convenient and easy to use. 

Josephinum Connect! offers deacon-oriented programming, created to support lifelong learning plans.  Formation activities are trackable and reportable for progress monitoring by formation directors.  

Our holistic approach addresses not only professional competencies but also personal growth, resilience, and spiritual development. Through collaboration, research, and tailored programming, we strive to equip deacons for lifelong ministry, ensuring they serve effectively and sustainably throughout their lifetime.
